Is Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil Safe for Diabetics?

As you can see from the nutrition facts on the left, extra-virgin coconut oil doesn't contain a trace of sugar, it carries zero carbohydrate and hence, it won't raise your blood glucose level at all and so it's safe for diabetics.

In fact, extra-virgin coconut oil not only is safe for diabetics but has been proven in numerous practical situations (rather than clinical studies) that it helps to regulate blood glucose levels and improve insulin response for diabetics.

It also helps with the pancreas in secreting insulin and improving insulin sensitivity, so it actually helps in reversing insulin resistance. On top of that, coconut oil is good for weight loss which is especially beneficial to overweight diabetics. Therefore, I highly recommend coconut oil to chronic diabetics.

FYI: There's no such thing as extra-virgin coconut oil. Coconut oil has no official classification. Oil makers call it extra-virgin or virgin coconut oil to inform us of the quality of coconut oil which represents 'unrefined'. Meaning, there's no difference in the quality of extra-virgin or virgin coconut oil.
